How to connect Lawmatics
Go to Settings โ Integrations
In your CaseHug dashboard, navigate to Settings โ Integrations.
Click "Connect to Lawmatics"
Find the Lawmatics card and click the "Connect to Lawmatics" button.
Sign in to Lawmatics
You'll be redirected to Lawmatics' secure login. Sign in with your Lawmatics credentials.
Authorize CaseHug
Review the permissions CaseHug needs (contacts, matters, forms, activities) and click Allow.
You're connected
CaseHug will redirect back to your integrations page. The Lawmatics card will show your connected status.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a specific Lawmatics plan?
CaseHug works with Lawmatics plans that include API access. Contact support@lawmatics.com to enable developer settings on your account.
Will CaseHug create duplicate contacts?
No. CaseHug searches for an existing Lawmatics contact by email before creating a new one. If a match is found, the existing contact is linked.
Can I control what gets synced?
Yes. Toggle auto-sync on/off for document approvals and matter creation from Settings โ Integrations. Manual sync is always available.
What happens if a sync fails?
Sync errors are logged in your integration history. You can retry manually at any time. Failures don't affect data in either system.
Can I disconnect Lawmatics at any time?
Yes. Click Disconnect from Settings โ Integrations. This revokes access and removes stored tokens. Your data in both systems is unaffected.
Are my Lawmatics credentials stored?
CaseHug never stores your Lawmatics password. We use OAuth 2.0 โ only an encrypted access token is stored, revocable at any time.
Does this work with Lawmatics webhooks?
Yes. CaseHug listens for contact.created, matter.stage_changed, form.submitted, and envelope.completed events. Status changes in Lawmatics are reflected in CaseHug.
Can I trigger Lawmatics campaigns from CaseHug?
When intake completes, CaseHug creates a contact and matter in Lawmatics. You can configure Lawmatics automation rules to trigger campaigns based on pipeline stage or contact creation.
Troubleshooting
โ ๏ธ "Lawmatics integration is not configured" error
This means our Lawmatics app credentials aren't set up. Contact support@calmintake.com. Also ensure your Lawmatics account has developer settings enabled (contact support@lawmatics.com).
โ ๏ธ "Invalid state" error during OAuth
OAuth state tokens expire after 10 minutes. Return to Settings โ Integrations and click Connect again.
โ ๏ธ Contact created with wrong data
CaseHug syncs client data exactly as entered. Update the client in CaseHug and re-sync the matter.
โ ๏ธ Sync shows "failed" status
Check Settings โ Integrations โ Sync History for error details. Common causes: expired token (reconnect), rate limits (wait and retry), or network issues.
โ ๏ธ Pipeline stage not mapping correctly
Go to Settings โ Integrations โ Case Type Mappings and update the stage mapping for that case type.
